Overheard in the Office...

RX: "Who is John Stamos?"

Me: "I don't know who the hell John Stamos is; I'm long past the point where People magazine turned into Who Are These People? magazine."

Just a week ago my wife and I were laughing about the people in magazines at the doctor's office. There is all sorts of gossip about folks we never heard of who I guess are important to some body.

Most of the names we recognize are old folks who have died and then about half the time I am surprised because I thought they were already dead. Anyway we had to laugh at the "important" celebrities we don't know doing crap we don't care about filling up the pages of magazines.

I agree to all if that, but I will say that Rockford Files was probably my all time favorite show, and I'll admit to being sad to hear James Garner had died.

John Stamos was briefly a sort of hero of mine, because he was married to Rebecca Romijn, who was the most-beautiful-woman-in-the-world for a while, but then they got divorced ,and now he's definitely "who's John Stamos?" again.

He's a short Greek-American dude, who is currently selling yogurt.

I hear James Garner passed. Now that is a name I know.

I do remember hearing John Stamos, but hell if I can remember why. Maybe he robbed a bank?

"Who's John Stamos?"
"Get me John Stamos."
"Get me a John Stamos TYPE."
"Who's John Stamos?'

(Originally attributed to Hugh O'Brien.)

I get mad at myself if I can successfully identify too many people on the rag covers in the Grocery line.

I know who John Stamos is. He was on a TV show that my daughter watched when she was a little girl. My daughter is about a year younger than the Olson twins. His current career is an answer to the question of what do former C list actors do after their moment of fame.

People Magazine started in 1974 (I just looked it up) and I remember a friend's wife having a copy about then. I looked it over and told myself that there was no way it would last more than a couple or 3 more issues. Who was interested in what those celebrities were up to? Most were simply famous for being famous.

Rickn8or, I also heard it attributed to Mary Astor.

Is John Stamos selling retirement village lots in Arkansas with Erik Estrada?

All I know is, Mrs. Drang switched brands of grick yogurt...

(Me, I can't tell the difference between grick, frog, or good old 'Murcan yogurt.)

My first thought was "He was the commander in the Battlestar Galactica reboot, which I never did see but, ummmm..."

Then I realized that I was thinking of Edward James Olmos, who was also in Blade Runner. Completely different guy.

Which leaves me not knowing who John Stamps was. Is. Whatever.

Hope this helps.

He was a dude who plagued the sitcoms I watched in the 90s. (Hey. I was a kid. No, I did NOT have anything better to do.)

"Who is John Stamos?"

This is the worst adaptation of *Atlas Shrugged* I've ever heard of.
